Flash-Free

I do not use flash in any main elements of my designs, I do this for a plethora of reasons, the primary reason being that it breaks standards and is a usability nightmare. Flash can contribute greatly (if used correctly) to site’s overall presentation, however in most cases flash tends to downgrade your online presence rather than upgrade it. Flash should be secondary , providing supplemental information that is independent of the sites main architecture.

Flash bases sites break web standards, standards that make internet usage intuitive and ubiquitous. Flash breaks conventions that most of your site’s visitors are used to. This causes your visitors to be distracted by the design which shifts emphasis from the content to the presentation. Flash based design tends to focus on the superficial rather than really usable design that isn’t tasking but is instead simple and intuitive.
